Press release dated 17 July 2025 : TAKATA airbags, Martinique : Field devices deployed again

As announced on 30 June 2025, the Martinique government and car dealers launched a major island-wide communication campaign on 1 July.
The aim was to inform the public and speed up the removal of the potentially fatal TAKATA airbags still present in around 16,000 vehicles on the road.
Following these field operations, Martinique’s dealers would like to emphasise to users that the TAKATA recall does not take into account whether or not the
vehicle to be secured is insured or has passed its roadworthiness test.
The field systems will be deployed again on Friday 18 July and Saturday 19 July 2025 – from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm.
